Doesn'...He hasn't quite gotten to them yet. Doesn't mean a court challenge would be successful, but I am skeptical that the courts are completely acting in Cuomo's interests.

Also, remember too that since pressure remains on teachers no matter what the moratorium does for kids, parents are still going to see how their kids are being unduly affected by the CCSS tests. Remember many parents are pissed over all the overtesting. APPR causes much of that overtesting, not CCSS. So as long as APPR remains in effect, so will public outrage over the overtesting.reality-based educatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01712885202661371924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628172601886929098.post-41878238934593110312014-03-26T07:13:13.444-04:002014-03-26T07:13:13.444-04:00Seems to me Bruce Baker as a witness for the antiA...Seems to me Bruce Baker as a witness for the antiAPPR side could just what you're saying needs to be done.reality-based educatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01712885202661371924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628172601886929098.post-55790413340090443942014-03-26T07:12:08.953-04:002014-03-26T07:12:08.953-04:00The changes Indiana made to CCSS are minor accordi...The changes Indiana made to CCSS are minor according to some CCSS critics. We know he data used is flawed and that is the real reason why it will not be used to "evaluate" students. However, NYS will just say that they don't want to use the data "yet" for students but will say the data is fine for teachers. A lawsuit will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the data collecting technique is indeed flawed enough to be rendered invalid. Any teacher who personally sues or if there is a class action lawsuit better get geared up with some hard data/research to show how the data is worthless to be used to evaluate teachers. This is going to get interesting for sure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628172601886929098.post-83090121885955260732014-03-25T23:57:35.371-04:002014-03-25T23:57:35.371-04:00http://www.the-american-interest.com/blog/2014/03/...http://www.the-american-interest.com/blog/2014/03/25/indiana-rejects-common-core/

Indiana regents Common Core.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1628172601886929098.post-21787541447928567422014-03-25T21:03:23.101-04:002014-03-25T21:03:23.101-04:00I would think it opens the whole system up to laws...I would think it opens the whole system up to lawsuits as well. Way to go Cuomo. The only "good" thing from this crap is that parents are going to be quite pissed that their kids are still going to be in constant test prep mode due to the fact that their kids teachers need to get the test scores up to keep their jobs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
