Obama Tried To Bribe Sestak To Drop Out Of Race

More change we can believe in?

Actually no - it's the allegation that someone in the Obama administration broke the law trying to save Obama's best buddy Arlen Specter from a primary challenge in PA:

Rep. Joe Sestak, winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary, is refusing to provide more information on what job he was offered by a White House official to drop of that race, although he confirmed again that the incident occurred.

The White House was backing incumbent Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in the primary. Sestak acknowledged in an interview in February that he was offered a position by an unnamed White House official - a potential violation of federal law - but has not offered any specifics on conversation. Republicans are trying to use the issue against Sestak in the November Senate race.

"It's interesting. I was asked a question about something that happened months earlier, and I felt that I should answer it honestly, and that's all I had to say about it." Sestak said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Anybody else has to decide on what they will say upon their role. That's their responsibility."

Yet Sestak confirmed to NBC's David Gregory that the incident did take place.

"I was offered a job, and I answered that," Sestak said. "Anything that goes beyond that is for others to talk about."

OK, I'll ask some questions, Admiral Sestak:

Who in the administration offered you a job in the White House?

David Axelrod?

Rahm Emanuel?

Obama himself?

If not Obama himself, was he aware of the offer?

And what job were you offered?

Whoever made the offer of the job broke the law.

If Obama was aware of the bribe and did nothing to stop it, then he broke the law too.

More change we can believe in from the corporate criminals in the White House willing to do or say anything to pay off their buddies and punish their enemies.

  1. Why are folks shocked to see the "Chicago Way" patronage methods carried to the White House? Obama was a community organizer in Chicago and Rahm and Axelrod are longtime Chicago pols. It is SOP in the Chicago machine to offer jobs to political opponents to get them out of the way. Another distinguishing characteristic of machine politics is the demonization of the opposition. Partisan warfare and divisiveness are further hallmarks of the Chicago machine. As far as effective governance...anathema to the "Chicago Way"
The worst of both words: The Chicago Way And Amatuer Hour at the White House.

  2. I'm not surprised by it - I am simply pointing it out.

  3. Now the cover story is that Clinton offered some nonpaying presidential board position to Sestak to convince him not to run against Spector. Wrong in two ways: First, nobody runnning for Sentate with a great chance of winning will be swayed by a meaningless, powerless, and voluntary board position. Second: The delay in releasing this wacky story indicates they had to concoct it and Sestak (and probably Clinton)is playing along to get the Chicago gang off the hook.
Of course the national press is happy to bite on this ridiculous nonexplanation and give a pass to their pal Obama. Once again we have the ineptitude of our inexperienced president and the odious nature of the corrupt "Chicago Way". The worst of both worlds...and the slobbering press loves it!
