NY Times: Christine Quinn Has No Principles

That's the takeaway from the front page article they ran about Quinn this morning.

Norman Siegel, after working with her on an issue:

Mr. Siegel said recently that he believed Ms. Quinn had abandoned her beliefs to advance her future political prospects.

“I came to the conclusion that I’m not sure what her principles are, and what she really stands for,” Mr. Siegel said. “It was the kind of opportunistic stereotype that most people have these days of politicians.”

There's also a story in the article about how Quinn became convinced a staffer for Tom Duane was a mole for an opponent and organized a ostracism move against the person.

The staffer was not a mole.

No word if Quinn ever apologized to this person, but she did concede to the Times that “It was a horrible, horrible mistake.”

It's not as devastating as the Times piece on her temperament a few months back, but it certainly does help her in a Democratic primary.

  1. So after her speech yesterday the Times runs an ambiguous article about council speaker Quinn. Her downward spiral in the polls continues regardless of the pollsters who as in 09 are underreporting many segments of the electorate once again. Quinn may or may not have principles but she sure has one big unavoidable problem, TERM LIMITS.

    1. Good point about the undereporting. I bet her internal polling isn't doing that, however. I bet Quinn knows.
