Christie Under Water In New Poll

So much for Chris Christie's assertion that the public doesn't care about Bridgegate:

Gov. Chris Christie has called the George Washington Bridge scandal an obsession of the press that the public doesn’t care about, but two polls released today show the ordeal continues to erode his political support and public image.
One survey, the Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll, showed Christie’s popularity at an all-time low after dropping 20 percentage points since November.
What’s more, 41 percent of voters surveyed said they approved of Christie’s job performance and 44 percent disapproved — the first time the poll has shown results to be more critical than supportive of the Republican governor since he took office in January 2010.
...
At the same time, a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll of 729 registered voters released today and conducted Feb. 22-28 showed a record low number of voters — 23 percent — said the word "trustworthy" described Christie very well, down 20 points from October.

And there will be much more to come in the Bridgegate and Sandy aid scandals before all is said and done.

Christie pal David Samson looks to be the target of a federal investigation into conflicts of interest between Samson's firm and the Port Authority.

Christie wants you to think he has survived the scandals and is going ahead with his national career with little to worry about from these scandals.

But he has a lot to worry about - the slow drip, drip continues to erode his popularity, approval and trustworthiness and as more comes out, things will get a lot worse for Chris Christie.

  1. Samson is a key part of the Christie machine. If a diligent prosecutor pursues him, then it's very bad news NJ's executive bully.

  2. When so many of the key people have resigned around Christie over this Bridgegate scandal what does this imply?
Next to go should be the BIG GUY ( ahem) HIMSELF. After all, the fish stinks from the head.....
