In education these days, all the MBA's running policy think it is money (in the form of merit pay) and fear (in the form of school closure, teacher firings, etc.)
Turns out they are wrong.
And science proves it.

Treating employees like intelligent human beings works better than treating them like horses to be rewarded with carrots or punished with sticks.

ReplyDeleteWhat's ironic is how the carrot/stick model is being used to bludgeon educators, whose jobs are already more purpose-driven than most. Talk about a scheme that is destined to fail...
