Glenn Greenwald and Cenk Uygur on why progressives MUST abandon Obama and the Democratic Party:
And I agree with Cenk - when Obama tries to cut Social Security benefits and raise the age of retirement to placate his banker overlords, it will be time to make open war on the Obama administration and the corporate Dems who back them as well as the Republicans.
Again I say, if you want change - real change - then PRIMARY OBAMA 2012.
I'm going to take a guess that the 2012 election will be '68 like with it becoming clear that Obama has less than a zero chance to win. Dems are praying the Republicans pick Palin but I think someone Rubio will be the one.
ReplyDeleteRuss Feingold another candidate from Wisconsin like Eugene McCarthy in '68 challenging Johnson may play the same role. He opposed Obama on the war and on the Wall St. bailout. He left the podium after losing saying something about 2012. SO is a primary on his agenda?
I'm guessing he will resonate early with the progressive base as things may deteriorate economically with paralysis and in the war.
Note the pleas coming from Krugman and Frank Rich that Obama can still recover but he doesn't have that fighting DNA like Roosevelt or Truman or even Clinton.
The last straw will be a surrender giving the rich their tax cuts. Too many Dems on the other side want Obama to be more Republican.
Can you see Obama saying he will withdraw from running for the benefit of the country so he can try to end the war? And then Hillary plays Robert Kennedy and jumps in.
History replayed in perfect symmetry.
Its Cenk.
