The NY Times STILL Can't Find Anybody Bloomberg Interviewed For The Chancellor Job

Moneybags insists he conducted an exhaustive search for Chancellor Klein's replacement and the best candidate he found was Cathie with an "i" Black - a magazine magnate with no education experience.

But the NY Times wasn't able to find any other candidate that Bloomberg interviewed for the position even though Bloomberg said both earlier this week and today on his radio show that honest, he really did interview people.

In fact, Cathie with an "i" Black also said she wasn't interviewed by Bloomberg for the position. Bloomberg just offered it to her and she took it.

Why is Bloomberg lying about the candidate search to replace Klein when it is quite clear he didn't conduct one at all?

There are two theories I have about this (at least for now - like most theories, they're in continual evolution!):

Theory One: He wanted to push Klein out because the bad p.r. Klein engenders is starting to nick at the 2012 poll numbers, especially with women voters. And Bloomberg really thinks he has a shot at being president. So he sent Klein packing, didn't think much about a suitable replacement, then figured - "Hey why not one of my business/cocktail party cronies?" So he offered her the job over cocktails at some East Side soiree and the rest is, as they say history.

Or my second theory: He is planning a radical reorganization of the school system in his last three years in office. He plans to close hundreds of schools, he thinks Cuomo will be able to get the unions to cave on both seniority and tenure so that he'll be able to fire as many teachers as he wants, but he knows that he cannot have Sour Joel doing the dirty work, not with 30% approval and the 2012 race looming. So he decided to bring in a softer touch to do the dirty work. And to buy Klein off and soothe any hard feelings, he got his pal Murdoch to give Klein some wingnut welfare and offer him a position at News Corp.

It's hard to figure out what happened here, why Klein left so abruptly, why the replacement process was so secretive, why Bloomberg is lying about conducting a search when it is pretty clear he didn't.

But one thing I am pretty sure of regarding Ms. Black: she has been brought in to do evil and she MUST not be trusted any more than Chancellor Klein was by teachers, parents or students.
