If you're involved in NYC public schools in any way, you know the BloomKlein miracle on graduation rates is as phony as the BloomKlein miracle on test scores and the achievement gap was.
Now Norm at Ednotes wonders aloud if the whispers he is hearing about an audit of the BloomKlein grad rates was what pushed Klein to FOX News.
Could be.
Something weird happened to push Klein so fast.
Even his closest aides didn't seem to know.
But at the end of the day, I fear it doesn't matter what criminal activity and/or fraud is exposed about BloomKlein.
Even after the test scores were exposed as phony, the BloomKlein apologists had reasons for why we shouldn't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain.
I suspect that the same will happen if the grad rates are exposed as fraudulent.
It seems for some in the American media, the only people at fault for anything in the NYC school system are the teachers.
That's the scary thing - as Michael Fiorillo points out in the comments of Norm's post, the ed deformers who praise BloomKlein are like the Bush supporters who still think invading Iraq was a fine idea.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
It's all good.
