Cathie Black Speaks On Job Experience

This is from an interview on management and was conducted before she was made chancellor, so it's slightly more coherent than the stuff she says now:

We have to learn to take chances on people who are a little bit younger than we would have hired in the past. You’re always weighing experience versus enthusiasm. Are you willing to take a chance on someone who has all of the enthusiasm going for them, but perhaps they don’t have much experience? I think that’s particularly relevant in the digital space today.

Given how the Gates/Duncan/Rhee/Bloomberg/Obama/Broad education reform agenda has been to demonize veteran teachers as "bad" and privilege 24 year old TFA's as "good," I suspect that Cathie with an "i" Black will come down on the side of enthusiasm over experience as teacher.

Why wouldn't she?

She claims to have plenty of enthusiasm for her new job, but no actual education experience.

So Cathie Black herself fits the profile exactly.

Teachers with 10+ years experience, take note. Teachers with 15+ years experience - you're directly on the chopping block.

And 20+ years experience?

As Cathie Black would say, "What are you lazy bastards still doing in the same job? Why haven't you gotten bored and gone on to new challenges? What - are you afraid of change?"

Ah, yes - she be a swell three years in the Black chancellory - if the lawsuits don't send her packing first.

Or if the burgeoning corruption scandals don't send Bloomberg underground.
