Pataki Thinks He Should Run For President

Wow - the level of denial some politicians have is mind-boggling:

“He intends to run,” says lunch buddy Ed Koch. George Pataki is at it again, flirting with the national spotlight. Will the former New York governor finally consummate a presidential campaign?

Watch cable television these days, and you’re likely to find George Pataki, the gangly former New York governor, filling up the screen. He’s in the middle of a familiar stage in the life of a party sachem who fancies himself a statesman. It’s presidential fantasy season for Republicans, where any man or woman with a heartbeat and a statehouse stop on the resume, suffers from White House fever dreams.

Uh, good luck with that, George.

  1. I would definitely vote for Pataki. I may not agree with some of his policies but I think he was a great governor, I believe he's a good man and I think he would make a wonderful president. He's one of the few politicians that I can actually say I like.

  2. He was a lap dog for the senators of the dysfunctional legislature. He couldn't stand up to the bullshit up there. Although Spitzer did he want he did, albeit very immoral and unethical, but at least he was cleaning up house in Albany.

  3. Spitzer was destroyed by Wall Street.

  4. Spitzer was destroyed by his scandal involving a prostitute. Let's not blame anyone else for his unethical behavior. People have a right to be "immoral" but if that need is so overwhelming well then maybe they shouldn't seek public office.

  5. If you watch the movie "Inside Job" you will see the hypocrisy of Wall street. Hookers/prostitutes interviewed say they have lots of customers from Wall street. The director points out the irony of Wall street bringing down Spitzer (who also comments on the issue by the way). And says with the help of these people, the Wall street cartel could be brought down. Anyway. if you haven't watched "Inside Job" go watch it. It will make your blood boil.

  6. At the going rate, a potted plant will be able to beat the hope-changey guy in 2012. Sad but true.

  7. I'm sorry g3 but no matter who was involved in "leaking" the information about Spitzer and his prostitutes, it does not change the fact that it was Spitzer himself who is responsible for his bad judgement. I'm kind of tired of people passing the blame and not holding people responsible for their actions. Yes, maybe others have committed the same acts, but that still doesn't change the fact that Spitzer did it, he was Governor and he got caught. A wall street executive being caught with a hooker is not the same as a Governor being caught with one. If one wants to hold public office they have to realize that it comes with expectations and standards that may not apply to those in the "business world." I'm sure anyone wishing to become a Governor knows that being with a prostitute is politcal suicide and they have to decide if it's important enough to risk their career. Obviously, Spitzer's sexual desires won and thus he had to pay the price for it.
