Why Don't Unions Frame Benefits This Way?

From Firedoglake:

Instead of looking at public pensions, for example, and thinking “Why do they get that?” shouldn’t the response be “Why don’t I get that?” Especially considering the record profits workers are generating for corporations at this time.

Indeed - the problem is NOT union and/or government worker wages and benefits.

The problem is the disparity in income and wealth between the really, really rich and everybody else and the refusal of the hedge fund criminal class, the corporate criminal class, and the Wall Street criminal class from paying their fair share of taxes or a living wage to the working and middle classes.

The problem is corporate greed and exploitation.

For some reason, Americans refuse to see this

Instead they look at a teacher's health care benefits and pension and say "Let's take that from those people!"

Meanwhile the hedge fundies, Wall Streeters and corporate CEO's are laughing all the way to their tax-free Cayman Island havens.

  1. Just for the record, I've been saying the same thing for years, and I believe I blogged it as recently as Friday.

The first link in his post brings more horrors with unions tearing each other apart and some colluding with the plutocrats.
