Arne's Ides of March

Ed Week reports that Arne Duncan is warning that if Congress does not past the Obama's administration's blueprint for No Child Left Behind re-authorization soon, 82% of American public schools will be labeled "failing."

Of course, under the Obama blueprint for No Child Left Behind - the one that brings standardized tests to every subject in every grade several times a year and ties teacher evaluations and pay to those tests - 82% of teachers in America will be labeled "failing."

That, as I like to say to students during the endless Regents exam prep drills we do these days in order to keep from being labeled "failing," is an example of "irony."
