Ignore the cost of getting him in lives and money.
We finally got him and it's all worth it!

I dunno, I guess I'm just not a good American or something. I'm not sorry to see him gone, but all I can think at this moment is, what did the death of Osama accomplish?
Will it bring back the people killed on 9/11, any of the people killed since in terrorist attacks, any of the dead innocent Iraqis and Afghans, any of the dead innocent Pakistanis we've killed with drone attacks, any of the dead American soldiers killed in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Will the wounded and maimed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars miraculously heal good as new?
Will it bring back the $1.3 trillion+ we've spent on wars and security since 9/11?
Will the Forever Wars end now, will the illegal surveillance state diminish?
Will we be safer?
It's cool to treat the Bin Laden death like the US Olympic Hockey Team just won the gold medal over the Soviets, but I don't see how the Bin Laden killing really changes anything.
American intelligence officials certainly don't seem to think it has changed anything.
They expect Al Qaeda to attempt a major terrorist attack in the next year to reassert their relevancy.
But party on, America!

I'm glad they finally got Osama, but...
ReplyDeleteOur country is currently broken, I'd like to see it fixed.
Get us out of all wars.
Build up the working and middle classes.
Give ALL children a diverse and quality education.
Then, I'd be really ecstatic.
