Quinn Criticized For Harming Constituents Of Council Member Who Angered Her

From the Daily News:

Albanese blasted Quinn for feuding with Queens Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley.

The two sparred over Crowley’s unauthorized release of budget negotiation details to the press in 2010. Crowley that same year had her discretionary funding slashed, a move some characterized as retaliation.

“Liz Crowley said something you didn’t like, so you took away member items?” Albanese asked Quinn. “You don’t hurt Liz Crowley -- you hurt the neighborhood.”

Albanese also said he supports banning member items.

“How do you reconcile that one district receives $2 million of tax payer funds and another receives $100,000, $200,000?" he asked. "It’s unconscionable."

Not in Chris Quinn's world.

In her world, discretionary funds are there to be used to maintain power and to get people to do what she wants them to do.

Quinn doesn't care if she slashes senior citizen programs or youth programs in someone's district, as she did with Crowley's district.

Quinn only cares that Crowley bows down to the feudal lord at the head of the City Council and properly credits her in public relations releases.

Just another example of why Christine Quinn shouldn't be in charge of anything - not the City Council, not her own staff, not a budget with discretionary funds and certainly not New York City.
