Why Won't Michael Mulgrew Debate Julie Cavanagh?

I know UFT President Michael Mulgrew is a very, very busy man, what with the selling teachers down the river on evaluations and granting NYSED Commissioner and education corporatist John King the right to impose any old kind of system he wants onto NYC teachers.

But it's just this kind of busyness that the UFT rank and and file need to hear elucidation about in a debate between Mr. Mulgrew and Ms. Julie Cavanagh, the MORE candidate and Mulgrew's only opponent.

Unfortunately, UFT President Mulgrew doesn't agree that the rank and file have a right to hear just why he and his leadership have pursued the sell out policies they have during Mr. Mulgrew's tenure.

And that is why Michael Mulgrew is MIA on this debate - just as he and the leadership have been MIA on protecting teachers in a time of historic attacks on public education, teachers and unions.

Don't we want MORE out of our union leadership?
