What Happened To Schneiderman's Investigation Into Pearson, David Steiner, Over Corruption?

In this Times Union story about anger over the Pearson field tests is this update:

Pearson's close connection to the state Education Department has raised eyebrows before. In late 2011, state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office opened an investigation into whether Pearson or a related non-profit foundation improperly underwrote international travel for New York's former top education official, David Steiner, months before Pearson was awarded a $32 million five-year contract to develop state tests.

Both Schneiderman's office and Steiner declined to comment on the case.

Pearson and state Education Department officials have denied any wrongdoing.
Company officials declined to answer any questions for this story and forwarded them to the state Education Department.

If the investigation is over and no wrongdoing was found, why doesn't Scheiderman say so?

We're now in mid-2013 and he opened the investigation in late 2011.

Does it take more than a year and a half to complete the corruption investigation into former NYSED Commissioner Steiner and Pearson?

Or is there some kind of cover-up going on and we'll never hear anything more about this?

  1. Schneiderman was hot on the trail of a wrongly convicted mother here in Buffalo whose scumbag bf raped and killed her daughter. After she served 14 years a detective broke ranks and released a bunch of stuff that exonerated her. Schneiderman was going to retry her but I think he's backed off as she has stage 4 lung cancer. There's your courageous political appointee hard at work on the little people. Almost as courageous as Lil John King and that seahag Tisch making primary kids cry and vomit with their testing regimen. What a foul and rudderless ship of fools.

    1. I'm not familiar with that story - can you post a link, Sean.

A foul and rudderless ship of fools, indeed.
