Independence Day (4th of July, Bloombergville)

First, the good news: In six months, New Yorkers will be officially independent from Nanny Bloomberg.

Now the bad news: In six months, New Yorkers may have to welcome in the reign of Nanny Quinn, Anthony Weiner or Joe Lhota.

Maybe NYC Educator is right.

  1. NYC Educator is using the same logic on why we must vote for Thompson as why we all just had to vote for Obama. Can you find anything that Obama endorsement has gotten teachers?

    1. I disagree. NYC Educator voted Green and said so in 2012. The 2008 election, I think he may have supported Obama, but many of us did, fooled by Obama The Charlatan.

In the Thompson endorsement, I think he has made the logical decision considering the choices. They destroyed Liu over the campaign finance issue, de Blasio has shown no ability to get above 10% and Quinn and Weiner would definitely be bad for schools, teachers and city employees (Weiner in particular) while Lhota would be devastating. So the Thompson choice makes some sense.

I'm not ready to declare an official endorsement of a mayoral candidate. I did endorse Tish James for Public Advocate. I may not announce an endorsement at all. But I do see why NYC endorsed Thompson.
