80% Of New Yorkers View Anthony Weiner Unfavorably

The numbers are not getting better for Anthony Weiner:

About two-thirds of New York voters say the publicity circus sparked by Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer makes the Big Apple look like Clowntown, a new poll finds.

“Although 16% of New Yorkers think the national attention from the Weiner and Spitzer candidacies is ‘no big deal’ and eight percent find it entertaining, 68% – including 62% of New York City voters – say it’s embarrassing,” said Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg.

Both comeback-chasing ex-pols are viewed unfavorably by a majority of New York voters, including by their fellow Democrats, says Siena.

...

Weiner has now “set a new all-time Siena College Poll record with 80% of voters viewing him unfavorably – including three-quarters of Democrats and New York City voters,” Greenberg said.
Only 11% “have a favorable view of America’s most infamous tweeter,” he added, although Weiner did slightly better -- 18% -- among city voters.

The 80% unfavorable rating is statewide.

In NYC, Weiner is only viewed unfavorably by 75% of voters and Democrats.

Amazingly high negatives.

It does look like it is time for Anthony to go.

But I am hoping he stays in.

He seems to be taking some votes away from Bill Thompson, which is a good thing.

That just might help Bill de Blasio make the runoff.
