Looks Like We'll Have Another Day School Day Affected By Weather

It was 57 degrees and mad foggy this morning, the streets looking like something out of a Dickens novel.

A dense fog advisory was in effect until 10 AM this morning.

According to the Weather Channel, the high for the day is supposed to be 49 degrees (although it seems to me the high has been reached already with the 55 degree morning temperature?)

Tonight, the temperature will fall to 10 degrees.

There is a wind chill advisory in effect for Tuesday through Wednesday, with wind chill values falling as low as -15.

How's that for a contrast?

57 degrees in the morning to 10 degrees at night with a wind chill value of -15.

And just a couple of days ago after the snowstorm ended, the temperatures fell to the teens with wind child values as low as -10.

So temperatures in the teens and wind chill values as low as -10 to 57 degrees to temperatures close to the single digits and wind chill values as low as -15

This, it seems to me, is what they call "extreme weather."

I am sure we will have school tomorrow and frankly, I don't want to lose another day - I have ELA Regents preparation to do.

But I suspect attendance will be impacted by the weather tomorrow, and so it will be another lost day of preparation.

Today is already lost because it is a PD day and the periods are shortened.

The time is growing short to try before the ELA Regents exam last week in January.

In today's school system, this is what is important for students, teachers, administrators and the schools themselves - the test scores.
