Gov. Andrew Cuomo has told lawmakers that ethics is his No. 1 priority this year and other contentious issues – school aid, teacher evaluations, and regional infrastructure projects – are negotiable, several legislators said.
The story's by Yancey Roy, it's behind a paywall at Newsday.
More on this as we get more details.
But let me remind everybody out there that NYSUT President Magee and UFT President Mulgrew have already had one semi-secret meeting with Cuomo aides that made it into the news.
I wonder if they have any more semi-secret meetings in the works?
No way. He's not our counter-party in contract negotiations; which should have been pointed out when he mandated the APPR's last year. So, there's nothing to negotiate, Plus, he smells
ReplyDeleteHe belongs on trial for obstruction of justice, accepting bribes, destroying emails and corruption. He belongs in jail. Why negotiate with a ganster?
ReplyDeleteThe play's the thing. Methinks this has been theater with the union and Cuomo having written the play.
ReplyDeleteCuomo can try to negotiate all he wants. But he will never, ever get a red cent from me. Nor will he or his stooges get my vote. Ever. It seems that what should now be called the Democorporate Party cares more about its big business contributors these days. But on election day, I have one vote and Bill Gates has one vote. And, I hope to take as many votes as possible away from the Democraps in charge until such time as they start doing right by our public schools and our children. I registered in the party. I've contributed to the party. And, I cannot believe how you've turned your backs on public school teachers, on unions, on the American middle class.
ReplyDeleteMessage to Democratic leadership. Cuomo has done HUGE damage to your party, to your brand. It's time to cut him adrift.
Have you any idea the collateral damage this power-hungry idiot is causing you? Causing all of us??

What Cuomo means by "negotiate" is that he secretly met with the UFT/NYSUT and they already cut a back room deal on evaluations/tenure, etc. It is beyond obvious.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to see somebody FOIL the minutes from the meeting that the UFT, NYSUT and Cuomo had to discuss these new "negotiations" from last month. We need to see exactly how our union again sold us out to the Devil.
ReplyDeleteIf it's 40%, it still sucks. Have bro knock it down to a realistic number. Asking for 50% and dropping it to 40% is still a huge victory for Cuomo
ReplyDelete0%. None. Nothing. UFT should not be negotiating with someone who comes to the table in bad faith. Furthermore, they should be pushing to undo the damage that as done, not trying to appease a lunatic. As he pushes for more.
