Mistress Eva

It's snowing.

School districts from D.C. to New York City are closed, parochial schools are closed and 10-16 inches of additional snow are expected.

Conditions are expected to worsen this afternoon and make the evening commute difficult. Winds may gust up to 40 MPH, blowing snow and creating white out conditions. The storm is not supposed to stop until late tonight or early Thursday.

So this is going to be a very long, very difficult storm and it's probably a good day to keep kids away from buses, roads and the evening commute.

But according to the New York Times, Mistress Eva was sad the city forced her to close her charter schools:

Last year, students at Harlem Success Academy I, run by Eva Moskowitz, a former city councilwoman, came to school amid the icy gusts, even as the public schools closed.

“We are usually pretty hardy about these things and don’t like to lose even a single day of instruction,” Ms. Moskowitz said. “Had it been up to us, we would have stayed open.”

Mistress Eva herself takes a cab to work, of course.

When you pay yourself $371,000 a year to run your four charter schools, you can afford that kind of thing.

The students at her charter schools?

They would just have to get to school and back home as best they could.

And if they got hurt in the process, oh well.
