Bloomberg Broke Law Over Campaign Posters Too

Yesterday the Mayor of Money said it was disgraceful that some city politicians broke the law by putting campaign posters on city property.

But the NY Post reminds us that Bloomberg himself engaged in similar behavior (and was fined for it) back in 2005:

Poster boy for excessive poster fines Mayor Bloomberg blasted elected officials about putting up campaign fliers yesterday, calling them an "eyesore" -- but failed to acknowledge his own flier fiasco. "We have a law that makes sense so that you don't have all these posters all over the place," Bloomberg told The Post. "If elected officials don't follow the law, what hope is there for everybody else?" But during his 2005 mayoral campaign, he topped the list of poster pests with 4,218 summonses and a $307,725 fine. A City Hall rep said, "He's making a point about accountability -- if you get a ticket, then you should pay it."

Oh, yeah - he's making a point about accountability, all right.

For the Mayor of Money, accountability means you do what he wants and he does what he wants and anybody who questions either will be attacked.

When you look up the word "hypocrite" in the dictionary, there is a picture of Mike Bloomberg eating a Cheez It cracker with transfat in it while he flies his gas-guzzling private jet to an environmental conference.
