Obama Is A Disaster

This is the first and probably only time you will see me agree with Peggy Noonan:

Peggy Noonan: "The ObamaCare rollout is a disaster for the White House, not a problem or a challenge or an embarrassment, not a gaffe or a bad few weeks. It is a political disaster, and the only question is whether it is partially recoverable, meaning the system can be made to work in a generally satisfactory way in the next few weeks. But--it has to be repeated--they had 3½ years after passage of the Affordable Care Act to make the program into something the American people could register for and feel they were benefiting from. Three and a half years! They had a long-declared start date: It would all go live Oct. 1, 2013, and everyone in the government, every contractor and consultant, knew it."

Incompetent beyond belief.

This is the same president who came to P-Tech this week to brag about his education reform agenda and how it was making education better for students all across the nation.

But of course his education reform agenda is a disaster of monumental proportions, just like Obamacare.

The consequences are being seen in the numbers of parents across the nation joining the anti-Common Core and anti-testing movements, the numbers of children saying they hate school and never want to go back, and the numbers of teachers quitting the profession or looking to quit it because of the scripted lessons, the teacher evaluations tied to test scores and the harmful Common Core standards, the idiotic curriculum that has been developed around it, and the damaging tests created to "assess" whether it has been learned by children.

This man has been a disaster as a president, as bad as George W. Bush.

And don't even get me started on the spying, the drone bomb killings, the war on whistleblowers, etc.

  1. My sister sent me a link which claimed that Toni Townes-Whitley, a Princeton chum of Michelle Obama, is an executive at the company which was given the contract to construct the site. She also gave the example of Amazon and their successful web site as proof that people who know what they're doing can build a complex site that works.

    1. I believe it - nepotism rules in D.C., Albany, Tweed, et al. The new meritocracy - nepotism.

  2. Oh, and I believe it was a no-bid contract.

Proving once again, we are no longer a two party system in this country, but one. That party is the Green Party, and I don't mean green as in earth. CA$H.

    1. I voted Green in the last presidential election. I voted for the Republican against Cory Booker because I wanted to cut down the total between Booker and his opponent. I no longer vote for the Democratic Party reflexively - I vote for the candidate, and often I vote strategically to send a message.

  4. Obama is far worse than Bush. Never imagined that could be possible!

Obamacare, never intended as true care for our citizens, but a gift to the insurance companies. The insurance companies that crafted the mandate, with their interests in mind.

See Michelle and Obama photo ops placing them in front of black children, (Obama on Friday with P-Tech students) try to keep the black population sucked in so there won't be no revolts.
He is doing exactly what he was chosen to: watch what he does not what he says. Neo-liberal offering up social security and medicare with corporate America behind him.
Waiting for his 35 million dollar house in Hawaii that Penny Pritzker, his Secretary of Commerce recent appointee, is contributing to and raising money for. The house the Obamas will presumably occupy when his second term is up and he has wiped the floor with the middle class.

What a very big mess as we veer into fascism.

    1. If Bush had rammed through RttT, the same liberals and progressives at the Daily Kos and elsewhere who bow down to the Great Obama would be declaring the policy horrific. And can you imagine if this were Bush with the drone murders and spying this criminal Obama has done? But it's all quiet at the Great Orange Satan and elsewhere in the progressive blogosphere. Party over principle...

In Wisconsin, and everywhere else, they are still waiting for him to put on his comfortable boots, and join the picket line.

    1. Dunno if I'd go that far, but he's up there with Nixon for sheer criminality and Bush for bloodthirstiness.

  7. I voted for Obama twice and I am very disappointed. I was impressed that he voted against the Iraq War. I was so excited that my fellow Americans had elected a black president. I thought it would show my kids that the doors of opportunity were wide open. Instead he is making a travesty of teaching and he does not support labor. He would not allow his daughters to be taught in the manner we have been forced to teach. My school is so starved for resources I can't even get paper and dry erase markers. I have been told twice that paper is on order. Where are they bringing it from?

    1. I voted for Obama once. After RttT, the bank bailouts, the drone bomb killings, etc., I could not vote for him a second time. I voted Green instead.

  8. What happened to his promise.."If you like the coverage you now have, you can keep it!!" Turns out that's not true and many are now losing the coverage they have and being forced to buy something more expensive.

    1. Nope - you'll lose the coverage you like now because the law forces companies and entities that have "Cadillac plans" to drop them for cheaper coverage. That's us in NYC gov't jobs...

  9. Folks, what happened to all of his "promises"? It was air, to get him elected.
I say it again, his goal is to wipe the floor with the middle class.
NEO-LIBERAL. Platform of the Neo-Democratic Party
Speaking out of one side of their mouth for the little guy, their nominal constituency, and the other for the plutocracy, their real constituency.

Everything on the backs of whats left of the middle class.
Are we going to sleep our way through this?

    1. Alas, so far, most have slept through it. I hope they awake soon. At least on the testing and the Common Core, people are awake here in NY State. It is good to see! Maybe it will shift to other issues too.
