Eva Moskowitz Public Relations Department In Overdrive These Days

An overall positive piece in the NY Times Magazine, now a shill piece from ed deform fanboy Jonathan Chait.

Last week she was on NY1, talking how she might run for mayor in 2017.

State of Politics tonight says "The charter school network CEO is getting a lot of media attention these days."

But it's never an accident when Success Academies or Eva herself gets attention.

With the amount of money she has to spend on p.r., you can bet the the "media attention" this past week is spurred on by Moskowitz's p.r. office.

What's her game here?

Why the sudden Eva Media Blitz?

  1. Take a look at the comment section of that story, and you will see the readers were outraged.

  2. Yes, but the article itself is just a puff piece and for people who read the physical magazine, there will be no comments section.

  3. I wouldn't underestimate the power of those who now view the NYTimes online. That division is growing and bringing in much needed revenue. The real problem is the NYTimes' Letters to the Editor selections. Only 2-4 are usually printed, and none come close to what is said in the comment section.
My comment on this article is #1 in the Readers' Pick. But the comments in general echo my own. One was from someone with personal knowledge of Success. While over 800 people commented, I still believe others are reading them. And that has to be a slap in the face to Eva and her PR machine.
My concern is when the Times' doesn't allow comments on many of their ed stories or editorials. That IMHO is an abuse of power by the editors when they realized the majority of readers are not in agreement with their agenda.

  4. I did notice that many of the comments are negative. Given all the controversy over Success and Moskowitz, I wonder how such an uncritical puff piece made it into the magazine?

  5. Read how the reporter (mis)treated Diane Ravitch. It's up on her blog. I too wonder why this paper is going downhill when they publish PR likes it's the truth. The reporter dismissed all of Diane's claims.
