One Of Those Weeks For Chris Christie

Been incredibly busy with work lately, a bit busy with other things, and well, I just don't have much to say today.

There are a couple of links I'd like you to take a look, though.

First, why Chris Christie is probably done in his bid for the White House.

Second, how the feds issued subpoenas to the Port Authority for the travel records of former PA chairman and Christie crony David Samson after it was revealed United Airlines created a special NJ-Carolina flight that lost lots of money but did help Sampson get to his weekend home.

Third, Jon Stewart on Christie's comfort with corruption:

There is no chance Chris Christie is successful in his bid to be president.

None.

Not with the stories (always well-known within political circles but not within the mainstream) that nobody takes better care of himself on the public's dime than Chris Christie hitting the mainstream news, not with the Sampson/Port Authority problem seemingly widening with new subpoenas issued, not with the Christie "Comfort with Corruption" meme making it to the late night shows.

Christie's always come with huge negatives - the big mouth which plays well for a little while, then not so much later on, the piss-poor record in New Jersey - but the corruption thing will be his undoing.

I dunno if he ends up in jail or not, but I know he's never ending up in the White House.

What do you know - I guess I did have some stuff to say today.

  1. Did not Chris Christie recently have dinner with Andrew Cuomo regarding the MTA resources that they share?

    2. That was before Christmas and it was about killing PA reform, not the MTA. Christie has no say with anything concerning the MTA.

    1. I saw that.

I dunno, I'm skeptical that Flanagan can be taken at his word - esp. after Cuomo begins arm-twisting.

Remember too that Flanagan is not negotiating the budget, Skelos is.

I hope Chaz is right and the education agenda is DOA, of course.

Just not sure those Flanagan statements are anything other than some rhetorical jive meant to assuage suburban moms in his district concerned about ed.

  3. The charter lobby has contributed hand over fist money to NY state legislators. They are a powerful and proud special interest. Just remember , the reason for the testing is to demoralize, demonize and break the "public school monopoly". Then Charter operators can find more opportunities for growing footprint and their stranglehold on education in NY. They are much like an invasive species.

  4. It is said that a "right" always overcomes a "wrong"...I look forward to th day when Christie and Cuomo get to share more things that they have in common, currently the Port Authority and it's and the slush funds they steal, massive corruption, their "brownshirt" bully tactics, ... and eventually... under arrest and indictments, and residents in a prison where they can begin to repay society for the crimes the have, and continue to inflict upon the people of New Jersey and New York.
