What Happens If Merryl Tisch/Regents Can't Create An "Effective" Teacher Evaluation System?

If they can't create an "effective" evaluation plan, does anybody get fired?

I mean, other than teachers.

  1. RBE - Did you see the new article on Capital New York about Tisch backing away from the Nov 15 evaluation deadline?

    1. Yes, I saw it. The above tweet i part of the same story - though it's from Tom Precious, not Cap NY.

  2. Here on Long Island, we had many more opt outs today than for the ELA. In my school the figure was about 25% higher. An Eastern Suffolk superintendent told me his district was up by 29%. In the huge Smithtown school district the number rose from 54% to 60% or about 3,000 students total.

    1. Good to hear. Thank you for the update. The pattern seems to be holding then - opt outs go up for the second set of tests...

  3. They'll just use and ineffective evaluation system on us. It hasn't stopped them before.
