MaryEllen Elia Gives Keynote At Educators4Excellence Conference

Gates Foundation-funded MaryEllen Elia meets up with Gates Foundation-funded Educators4Excellence for a reformy extravaganza (per the Capital NY education update):

MaryEllen Elia and former NYC schools chancellor Dennis Walcott will discuss East Ramapo with Brian Lehrer. Elia will also later deliver the keynote address at an Educators 4 Excellence conference. Eva Moskowitz will appear on NY1’s Inside City Hall tonight. Carmen Fariña and Merryl Tisch did not release public schedules.

Maybe they can compare notes on how swell it is off the live off the Gates Foundation largesse?

  1. Another new exciting year comin up. Hey, at least September has like what, ten days of school. A couple of new bullshit holidays (thanks) and then it's Columbus Day pushing towards Halloween. Before you know it, it's Thanksgiving and X-mad Vacation right around the corner. January is a free month in high schools (thanks again), then it's the new term February (high schools take a week to adjust schedules), thanks again. Then it's Winter Recess. See you in March!

  2. Gates, Moskowitz, Elia, Tisch and (yes) Farina are all excellent reasons NOT to opt out of paying union dues.

  3. The friend of my enemy is my enemy. Elia meeting with E$$ proves that she is our enemy.

  5. Fariña is a super genius. The woman has a 200K+ pension from her mega years in system, THEN she's brought back to the 1 term mayor's administration to do another 3 years to collect a separate pension. Congratulations to Fariña!!!!! She knows how to play DOE Survivor Series, NYC Edition. Wow!!!!
