Oops - We'd Better Cancel That Event With The Governor's Secretary

Casey Seiler at the Times Union:

Amid a full-blooming investigation of possible deception and conflicts of interest involving Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s former executive deputy secretary Joe Percoco, a May 10 “Public Affairs Roundtable Breakfast” featuring Cuomo’s current Secretary Bill Mulrow has been postponed.

The roundtable was to have been hosted by the lobbying arm of the Whiteman Osterman & Hanna law firm.

A subsidiary, WOH Government Solutions, was run by lobbyist Todd Howe, who represented several of the companies currently in focus in U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s probe into upstate economic development projects.

It's perfect that a roundtable featuring the governor's secretary was being sponsored by the lobbying arm of a law firm under investigation for corruption involving the governor's former aides and his Buffalo Billion Project.

I think they should have let it go on anyway - kinda like an emblem for the administration as a whole.

  1. DeB got hammered today over control of the schools. It was plain ugly, unfair and political. He's going to lose it.

    4. I think they were expecting real fireworks considering the state Senate fight in 2014 and the BOE referral - but it really stuck just to ed for the most part.

  2. Murphy understandably wants DBs scalp. He brought up a new businessman accuser, but didn't mention the guy wants to run for mayor.

    2. Yes, that's the guy who made the accusation today. Media jumped all over it.

  3. Mayoral control has been used as the instrument to undermine public schools and teachers for 20 years in many cities and no matter who is mayor they should not control the schools. The anti deB people are tiptoeing around until they get the mayor they want.
