Third Night Of Demonstrations Against NYPD shooting In Brooklyn

From NY1:

Dozens of protesters gathered near 54th Street and Church Avenue in East Flatbush Wednesday night following the death of a teenager shot by police Saturday night.

Sources said some bottles were thrown and there was a lot of pushing, shoving and screaming at the scene.

Police officers in riot gear responded to the scene, but it's unclear how many arrests were made.
It all stems from the Saturday night shooting of Kimani "Kiki" Gray.

Police say officers opened fire on Gray, 16, after they say he pointed a handgun at them.
This is the third night of demonstrations.

On the first night, protestors smashed windows and ransacked a Rite Aid pharmacy.

Autopsy results showed Gray was hit seven times and suffered wounds on the front and back of his body, including his shoulder, rib cage, forearm and legs.

Most of the time, these demonstrations fade after a couple of days.

But there's a lot of anger out there at the police.

I can't imagine why:

“I was standing at the corner, on the sidewalk, and the cop said, ‘You can’t stand there.’ said Tyreck Strachan, 13, after being released from the 67th Precinct station house.

“I said, ‘I’m on the sidewalk.’ He started hitting me with a stick.”

Okay, maybe I can imagine why.

  1. They are out and out racists!! So many children of color are getting shot and killed by "law enforcement", and when a community reacts, the police are called in wearing riot gear. I was outraged this morning when Channel 11, WPIX news referred to these demonstrations as a "riot". I haven't seen any other reference of that nature. It may be true that things were thrown at the cops, but how else can outrage and extreme anger be expressed? This is just awful. We have not come a long way at all, especially in Bloomberg's fiefdom where attempts are made to control what should be personal decisions, but the violent actions of those sworn to protect and defend go unabated.
