At 3:30 p.m., Hochul does a Penn South walk through with NYC Council Member Corey Johnson, 26th Street and 8th Avenue, Manhattan.
Stop by and let Hochul know you think she should be running as a Republican, along with her running mate, Andrew Cuomo:
Hours after Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s pick for lieutenant governor published a video touting her liberal credentials, her challenger said her voting record “should be disqualifying” for a Democrat seeking office.
Columbia Law School Professor Tim Wu made a campaign stop near the state Capitol to release Part 2 of what he’s calling the “Kathy Hochul dossier”—a selection of Hochul’s more conservative-leaning votes taken during her time in Congress in 2011 and 2012.
Wu is challenging Hochul, a Buffalo Democrat who is Cuomo’s running mate, in a Sept. 9 Democratic primary for lieutenant governor. He’s running with Fordham Law School Professor Zephyr Teachout; But unlike presidential elections, New Yorkers vote separately for governor and lieutenant governor candidates in the primary stage.
“I think her record on environmental issues is abysmal and nothing short of shocking,” Wu told reporters. “My conclusion is this: I believe that Kathy Hochul’s views and votes should be considered disqualifying for someone who is seeking the nomination of the Democratic Party in this state.”
Wu was particularly critical of Hochul’s support for the Keystone XL pipeline, the controversial project that would take oil from the Canadian tar sands to Texas.
Since Governor Cuomo remains in hiding, she's got to be his proxy.
