Mad Max In Bloomberg's New York City

Thirty bikers surrounded a man in Upper Manhattan yesterday after a fender bender on the Upper West Side, caused when one of the bikers stopped short in front of the man's SUV, and pummeled him in broad daylight in front of his wife and 2-year-old.

The Daily News reported:

A dad out for a Sunday drive on his first wedding anniversary with his wife and 2-year-old child was attacked by a mob of motorcyclists in upper Manhattan who dragged him from his SUV and pummeled him on the pavement, cops said Monday.

Alexian Lien, 33, of Manhattan became the target of the uneasy riders when he accidently struck one biker who cut him off, triggering a wild chase up the West Side Highway.

NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly said up to 30 of motorcyclists finally caught up to Lien, when he exited the highway and got stuck in traffic at a red light at W. 178th St. near Wadsworth Ave. in Washington Heights.

Video taken by one of the bikers with a helmet cam shows one of the moto-psychos bashing the driver’s side window of Lien’s black Range Rover and another pounding on the rear window, where Lien’s daughter was in a car seat.

Lien, director of an e-commerce firm, was punched and slashed in the face with a knife in the ugly incident that occurred in broad daylight.

The the bloodied victim, a graduate of Columbia University, was taken to Columbia University Medical Center, where he received stitches for the wounds and was released.

You can see the video of the incident here, right up to the beginning of the beating:

A lawless day on the West Side Highway yesterday.

Where are the cops?

Not one cop in a car saw this happening?

Outrageous.

And here's something else to think about.

When and if some other horrific crime like this takes place and de Blasio is mayor, the Post and Daily News will be telling us we're back to the bad old 70's.

But this lawlessness, this bit of Mad Max horror show on the West Side Highway, took place when Mike Bloomberg was mayor and Ray Kelly was police commissioner.

The truth is, there have been a lot of horrific crimes in this city lately - from this Mad Max chase in Upper Manhattan yesterday to the man punched in Union Square in a hate crime earlier this month (the man later died.)

None of these stories are being framed as "NYC back to bad old Seventies" in the media because Mike Bloomberg is still mayor.

The oligarchs running the papers don't want to make their pal Bloomberg look bad.

But you can bet if de Blasio is elected, they'll use these stories as a political bludgeon against him.

I give it six months before the Post and the Daily News have the "NYC back to bad old Seventies" meme going in full swing.

Unbelievable scene in Upper Manhattan yesterday.

Doubt Howie Wolfson will Twitter this while he's lying about NYC having the lowest crime rates since the 1950's.

Hey, Howie, why not take a drive on the West Side highway next Sunday and see how safe things are?
