NY Post Uses De Blasio's Father's Suicide Against Him

We know from the hacking scandal that ended up with Rupert Murdoch's News of the World closed and dozens of Murdoch journalists from the NOTW and The Sun facing criminal charges for hacking, bribery and conspiracy that ethics is not a strong suit in the Murdoch Empire.

Murdoch's Post has been hammering Bill de Blasio for a few weeks now, calling him a commie pink, Sandanista-loving Marxist and all sorts of other things, but today, they really hit bottom.

Today, they used de Blasio's father's suicide against him:

At 2:06 pm, Bill de Blasio's campaign sent out a statement about his father's death in 1979.
“While this has been a private part of my family’s life, it is now clear a media story will soon emerge," it reads. "My father tragically ended his life while battling terminal cancer in 1979.”
The de Blasio camp did not immediately responds to requests for further information.

Shortly after de Blasio's statement was released, the New York Post published a report with some details about the death of de Blasio's father, Warren Wilhelm. The Post cited a Connecticut police report, and a local news report, which said de Blasio's father died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound in a parked car outside a motel in New Milford, Connecticut. He was 61 years old, and battling late-stage cancer.

(The publication that first wrote about the death of de Blasio's father back in 1979 was The New Milford Times. It later became the Housatonc Times, which discontinued publication this past June.)
De Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm Jr., named for his father, who de Blasio has said was an Army officer in World War II. De Blasio has also said his father struggled with alcoholism and wasn't around much when de Blasio was a child.

De Blasio's parents were divorced, and he eventually adopted his mother's maiden name as his own last name.

The de Blasio campaign released the information about de Blasio's father because the Post was about to go public with the story.

Apparently there are no depths to which they won't go to attack de Blasio.

Apparently nothing is off limits for the scum that work at the NY Post.

Or for the scum who owns it.
