Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott isn’t worried about buttering up critics of the city’s latest cafeteria ban.
The noted health enthusiast said Friday that the crackdown on butter in city schools — revealed in Thursday’s Daily News — is not “crazy” but, rather, in line with city efforts to fight childhood obesity.
“We have lofty guidelines that we set to make sure we reduce obesity and contribute to the health of our children,” Walcott said. “People shouldn’t be ordering butter.”
Meanwhile if they were really concerned about children's health, they would add gym classes back to the all-test prep all the time curriculum.
As I noticed that...noted in a comment:
PE teachers cost money, and they have no state test for that (yet...) The purely chemical, unnatural butter substitute is much, much more profitable.
Genetically modified chemicals over natural food and exercise.
That's Walcott's motto - and Bloomberg's too!
Walcott is a typical, political sychopant because he knows who "butters" his bread.
ReplyDeleteHe does - and so do the media who cover Bloomberg. How many of them end up on his payroll when it is all said and done?
