Lhota tells NYC teacher there's no $ for retroactive pay. Teacher thanks him for honesty, "convinces me more you are the man for the job"

Nothing to say here other than this unnamed teacher is one of the dumbest people on the planet.
Lhota says there's money for tax cuts for rich people.
But those years you teachers went without a contract because Boomberg refused to negotiate fairly?
Nope - no money for that.
Golly gee, Mr. Lhotta, thanks for your honesty!
Bet this teacher voted for Bloomberg three times running too.
We are often our own worst enemy. There is seriously nothing worse than an uninformed teacher. One who voted for Bloomberg, watches Education Nation and shops at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteTrue story- a few weeks back we had reps from Walmart come to our school and hand out $50 gift cards to teachers to show "how thankful Walmart is for the work teachers do!" Out of twenty people I was the only one who declined the gift card. My principles are not for sale. It'll take a lot of gift cards to make up for what Walmart has robbed from anyone associated with public education. But most teachers here just went around commenting on "how nice it was for Walmart to do that!"
Your story really illustrates how we are our own worst enemies, Brian. There is nothing "nice" about Walmart. Hard to believe teachers - unionized teachers - wouldn't know that. And yet, I can see the exact same thing you described at your school happening at mine.
