A Call To Action In New York

From the Politico Education morning email:

A CALL TO ACTION IN NEW YORK: Long Island educators and activists are expecting a huge turnout in Greenvale, N.Y., tonight at an event calling for testing opt outs and civil disobedience strategies to refuse Common Core-aligned exams, among other initiatives. The event is sponsored by New York Principals, NYS Allies for Public Education and the Long Island University Post. More than 2,300 tickets have been distributed; organizers had to move the venue to accommodate the demand. Education historian Diane Ravitch and Zephyr Teachout, who challenged New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, are expected to attend. Details: http://bit.ly/1zkc7dJ.

No wonder Cuomo felt threatened enough to have one of his flying monkey minions write an op-ed for Newsday trying to explain his reform agenda.

He's scared.
