Mayor Bloomberg says he's in favor of putting people's fingerprints on Social Security cards.
Critics say such a system would raise cost and privacy concerns, but the mayor says this would make it easier for employers to judge whether someone has legal permission to work in the United States.
Bloomberg says it would reduce the supply of work to illegal immigrants, leading fewer to enter the country.
"If your social security card had your fingerprint on it for example, the companies could just run it through a computer, and if you're undocumented, illegal, they just don't give you a job," Bloomberg said. "And you're not going to come here if you can't get a job."
If Bloomberg gets his way, there will be dozens of cameras on every street in the city to catch you smoking in the wrong place or eating transfats or whatever and all they'll have to say is "Let me see your papers, please."
And they'll run your prints right there on the computer and have you right into the system on the spot.
What a fabulous new way for the oligarchs to control people.
I don;t know why New Yorkers don't have as much disgust and disdain for Bloomberg as they did for Saint Rudy of 9/11.
To be frank, he's as bad.
I'm in favor of putting his assprint in the middle of the LIE. I'm thinking of the pot holed stretch on 495 West, just past the Cross Island Parkway. Actually, maybe they can pour some nice hot asphalt in one of those potholes and then put his faulty ass in it. Just a fantasy....
