Just in time for Earth Day, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is announcing on Thursday plans to improve the city's air quality.
Aides say the mayor will announce later today that the city is going to launch a loan program to support energy-saving projects.
The mayor is also expected to talk about building solar power plants on top of city landfills.
The Daily News is also reporting the city will force buildings to stop using the dirtiest types of fuel oil, in an effort to reduce soot and pollution.
It is all part of PlaNYC, the city's renewal plan that Bloomberg launched in 2007.
Hey, Mike, you want to clean up the air in NYC and around the world just a little bit?
