Obama's Most Reliable Education Deform Supporter In Senate Now Behind In Polls

This is good news:

Andrew Romanoff (D) literally bet the house on his Senate primary challenge of Sen. Michael Bennet (D) and a new Denver Post poll suggests it might be paying off.

Romanoff has closed a double-digit deficit and is now leading Bennet (D), 48% to 45%.

Bennet is a key ed deformer, a Wall Street scumbag, and a reliable vote for the EMO's, the HMO's and the credit card industry.

He is anti-teacher and anti-union.

He is also President Accountability's favorite ed deform senator in the Senate.

And hedger fund crook/education reformer Whitney Tilson thinks Bennet "rocks"!

I think those are more than enough reasons to send him down to defeat.

Romanoff, on the other hand, calls for the end of the "demonization of teachers," and says

Schools aren't factories and students aren't widgets...the silver bullet approach to school reform, the suggestion that we can or should transform public education just by charterizing it or voucherizing it or privatizing, that approach is doomed to failure. The real work of improving student achievement is tedious and hard and often expensive but it is worth it.

It would be nice to see the unelected Michael Benet, ed deform extraordinaire and friend to the Wall Street and hedge fund crooks go down to defeat.

POSTSCRIPT: Romanoff, btw, sold his house to fund his primary challenge:

Andrew Romanoff has officially gone all-in for his U.S. Senate bid, selling his Washington Park house and loaning his campaign $325,000.

Romanoff, the former Democratic speaker of the House in Colorado, sold the bungalow to a neighborhood developer. He will put the proceeds and cash from savings into his effort to unseat Sen. Michael Bennet in the Aug. 10 primary, a bid severely lagging Bennet's $7.5 million fundraising total.

While political observers said they considered the loan a desperate move in an underfunded campaign, Romanoff described the move with the mixture of defiance and humor that has marked his underdog effort.

"I'm never home anyway," said Romanoff, who has lived in Washington Park since the late 1990s. "Plenty of Americans are taking a lot bigger hit than me. I spend a lot of hours asking other people to do the same."

Independent public affairs consultant Eric Sondermann said, "One hopes on a personal level it's the smart long-term commitment. He must have made a decision he's in the hunt and needs a last-minute boost."

Indeed, Romanoff said, he is "increasingly confident. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think I was going to win."

Romanoff also couldn't help using the opportunity for new digs at Bennet, who has received most of the party endorsements and more than $1.3 million in cash from PACs. Romanoff has sworn off all PAC money for his current campaign.

"I'd like to create a democracy where you don't have to sell your house to win the U.S. Senate, but we're not there yet," he said. "I expect to win and repay the loan. I happen to believe Americans of modest means deserve representation, too."

Yes, Americans of modest means do deserve representation.

Currently Michael Bennet, unelected senator, represents the ed deform industry, the credit card industry, and Wall Street.

He made his fortune by putting people out of work in a corporate raid.

He does NOT represent Americans of modest means.

He makes money off of them.

And he wants to privatize the entire public education system, bust the unions and make sure all that education money is opened up for his hedge fund/Wall Street buddies.

Romanoff, on the other hand, seems to understand what teachers are facing these days:

“The single most important ingredient of a kid’s success is, of course, what goes on at home. But the second most important ingredient that contributes to student achievement is the quality of the teacher,” he said. “Since it’s harder for us to legislate good parenting, a lot of efforts in the capital and elsewhere are aimed at legislating good teaching …

“I’ve talked to a lot of teachers who feel demoralized because they’re expected to solve the problems that society has neglected.”

If you can send Mr. Romanoff a little bit of cash against the Obama crony/Wall Street/PAC-funded Bennet, that would be much appreciated.

You can bet Whitney Tilson has all his robber baron cronies and slave labor friends sending love Bennet's way.

I cannot stress enough, we need MORE and BETTER Democrats.

Sending Michael Bennet, President Obama's best education deform ally in the Senate, down to defeat would help that cause.
