Third World America

They can't even keep the power on at America's Annual JingoFest:

Super Bowl XLVII between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers was delayed on Sunday, after a power surge at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans caused a power cut, which caused half of the lights in the stadium to fail. The Ravens were leading 28-6 at the time, with 13 minutes and 28 seconds to go in the third quarter.

Reports suggested that an "outside power surge" had caused the power outage in the stadium.

As workers struggled to restore power to the stadium and broadcasters scrambled to fill airtime, the players and coaching staffs of both teams remained out on the field, the players stretching and practising in an attempt to keep up their adrenaline levels. The break in the game lasted for 34 minutes.

Truly a Third World country with a Third World ruling elite, Third World income inequality, and a Third World power grid.

That the game is being played on the site of one of the country's most disgraceful episodes in recent memory makes the power outage even more fitting.
