The days are growing longer.
The weather is growing warmer.
The trees are beginning to bloom.
The smell of test fear and dread wafts from 3rd-8th grade classrooms all across the state.
Ah, yes, it's Spring in New York.
If only Vernon Duke were here to immortalize the season in song.
Or Edgar Allen Poe here to capture the terror in prose.
Of course, under the current Endless Testing and Common Core education system, we won't churn out too many people creative enough to write songs or prose fiction anymore.
I guess we'll just have to settle for the informational text from the Albany Times Union and New York Times.
