Governor Cuomo Gets To Know His Future Neighbors

From the NY Times story about the prison break in upstate New York:

In an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” broadcast early Sunday, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said that investigators were trying to determine how the two men managed to acquire the tools – and use them – to drill through steel walls, pipes and stone walls in fashioning a subterranean escape route without detection.

But, even more pressing, the governor said, was the manhunt.

“The first order of business is to get these killers back,” the governor said.

The governor marveled at the particulars of escape, in which the two inmates had cut through a steel wall of their adjacent cells, shinnied down a series of internal catwalks, and burrowed their way more than a city block away before emerging from a manhole. Mr. Cuomo said that there had been a number of contractors working in the facility, and that the escapees’ work may have been safeguarded by the silence of other prisoners.

“I chatted with a couple of the inmates myself and said, ‘You must be a very heavy sleeper,’ ” the governor said. “They were heard, they had to be heard.”

I hope these two prisoners are caught quickly and without anybody getting hurt in the process.

But I have to say, Cuomo's trying to use the prison break to make news for himself and show himself to be in charge, with the Good Morning America appearance and the like, is too much.

Seriously, I think law enforcement can figure out what went wrong, how to make sure it doesn't happen again and capture these two prisoners without the governor's help.

That said, I am enjoying all the photos of Cuomo in prison:

Perhaps he's scouting out a route for his own future prison break?

  1. Yes, Cuomo is getting a first hand look at his future accomodations. I just look forward to the his PERP walk.

  2. No need for Cuomo to plan an escape. He wont end up there in the first place. Not because he isn't a turbocriminal, but because ol' Preet can't get the shit to stick to him. Thats all.

  3. Here's the comment Cuomo made, according to CNN

"These are dangerous people," he said. "They are nothing to be trifled with."

Is Cuomo a nitwit or what? They are nothing to be trifled with?? Yeah, I'm going to invite them over to my house so I can "trifle" with them. What the hell is he talking about.

So, he calls it a "crisis situation" in the state so he can look like he is in command. Meanwhile, there's one news photo that captured him looking at the camera in his shifty, Nixon-like way. Not in command....even of himself!

    1. Yes. This was a publicity stunt. Desperate.

  4. In the unlikely event that our Reptilian Governor spends any time in prison, rest assured he won't be staying in Dannemora.
