Central Fall, Rhode Island Turnaround School Not Doing So Well

President Accountability made the firing of the teachers at Central Falls High School in Rhode Island a centerpiece of his "Accountability For Teachers" Movement.

Secretary Arne Duncan "applauded" the firings.

Now Valerie Strauss says the turnaround of Central Falls High School is not going so well.

Why should this be a surprise?

All those turnarounds Arne Duncan was responsible for in Chicago didn't go so well either (see here and here.)

It's a shame Barack Obama didn't explain very plainly BEFORE the 2008 election that he was planning on turning Arne Duncan's failed turnaround strategy in Chicago into a national failed turnaround strategy.

I bet many of us who voted for him might have looked for Change We can Believe In somewhere else if he had.

  1. "President Accountability" - very nice. Waiting for PA to hold Turbo tax Timmy, Bailout Ben, Bob Gates etc accountable. If not, he is going to get a much much worse value-sdded assessment in 2012, maybe even loosing to the drama queen Sarah Failin'.

  2. There is now serious talk about a challenge to him from WITHIN the Democratic Party. More on this today in a post.
