Anthony Weiner Caught In New Sexting Scandal From April, Just Days Before He Entered Mayor's Race

The Daily News reports the following:

Anthony Weiner is sorry... again.

Updated: The mayoral hopeful was forced to do another loop on the apology circuit Tuesday after more lewd photos and some extremely graphic chat exchanges ran on TheDirty.com.

The site reported that a young woman said Weiner -- using the name "Carlos Danger" -- offered her a job and a Chicago love nest over the course of an online relationship that began in July, 2012, eventually fizzling out in December.

That timeline would set the exchanges about a year after his shamefaced resignation from the House in 2011 after getting caught exchanging tawdry messages and images with women other than his wife, Huma Abedin.

Weiner initially denied he'd been involved in the scandalous behavior, claiming his social media accounts might've been hacked.

"While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me," Weiner said in a campaign statement Tuesday.

The exchanges posted on The Dirty today range from detailed sex fantasies to more innocent banter and flattery. The anonymous woman said she was 22 at the time of her virtual relationship with Weiner, which included him emailing her photos of his privates.

Weiner and his wife stayed together after the scandal, and on Tuesday, he again expressed his regrets both to her and to the women on the receiving end of his lurid missives.

"I've apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness," he said. "We are focused on moving forward."

The scandal-scarred pol has repeatedly said since the late-May launch of his comeback bid that he expected more evidence of his sexting hobby to come to light.

The unnamed woman, in a statement on the website, specified that she never had sex with Weiner or received any money from him.

"I’ve seen comments stating otherwise and they are all totally false," the statement said. "I think it’s important to reiterate the fact that all of this happened with him after his first scandal, so all of his campaign promises about being a changed man are absolute lies."

The woman said Weiner stopped contacting her at the end of 2012, but re-emerged this April, not long before he fired up his mayoral campaign.

Here is what is written on TheDirty.com:

Anthony Weiner is up to his old tricks again. I’ve been in contact with a young female girl who wishes to remain Anonymous. She was lured by Anthony Weiner post scandal via Facebook. They had a relationship for 6 months and she believed they were in love. Anthony Weiner like a true sex predator promised Anonymous many things like a job at Politico and a condo in Chicago (a place they could meet up and have sex). The relationship consisted of Anthony Weiner and Anonymous sending sexually explicit pictures of each other and having sexual conversations via phone. The best part was Anthony used an alias this time thinking this would protect him. Anthony Weiner used the name ‘Carlos Danger’ when he would email pictures of his penis via Yahoo. Which makes me believe Anonymous wasn’t the only girl he was working.- nik

Anonymous: The part that’s most annoying is that I was 22 and in a bad place, but if anyone asked him he would say the same thing about himself, yet he’s an adult. This was a bad situation for me because I really admired him. Even post scandal, I thought he was misunderstood. Until I got to know him. I thought I loved him. Pretty pathetic.

Last August he even offered to help me get a condo in Chicago, without me asking. I’ll send screenshots of everything. I’m trusting you to keep my name out of it, because like I said, it was obviously a mistake. I was young and dumb. I just want people to really know he’s lying when he acts like he has changed.

The exchanges between Weiner and the young woman are pretty graphic, but you can read them if you wish over at TheDirty.com.

I think the thing to stress here is that Weiner was doing this in the last year and ended the relationship just three and a half months before he gave his re-emergence interview with the NY Times in April, then, according to the woman, tried to contact her again just days before he announced his run for City Hall.

Also it's important to note that the young woman is accusing him of predatory behavior - promising her a job, a condo, etc. on his own without any prompting by her.

It is clear to me from this emerging story  - parts of which Weiner has admitted to with some vagueness, according to Politicker - that he is a pathological liar and sex addict who needs serious emotional and psychological help.

He has been lying the entire time he has been on the campaign trail, playing the role of happy family man and dad when the reality was, he was still prowling the Internets with one hand on the Twitter or Facebook feed and another...

I don't know if this finishes him or not.

It should, since at least one instance of his contacting the young woman for a sexting session dates from just a few days before he announced his run for mayor at the same time he was professing how much better he was post-resignation to the NY Times.

But so far, New Yorkers have seemed to be a forgiving lot and given him a pass on his transgressions.

My hunch is, he will try and stay in the race for a while, but the press will dig into this and find more - perhaps even a lot more - now that this story is out there and he will be forced from the race.

This is especially so because he is admitting to some of the story, but not saying which parts of it.

Leaving an opening like that for the press, they're going to drive a convoy of Mack trucks through looking for more dirt.

But we'll just have to see where this goes.

For now, it surely churns the race for City Hall once more.

  1. This guy is one sick puppy. Will his wife dump him or follow in the steps of her benefactor Hillary? Quinn the big winner lets see how the polls shake out next week.

    1. Nope - Bill Thompson and Bill de Blasio are the big winners, because Weiner is going to be forced from this race and that means he will no longer be pulling 18%-20% of the vote. Perhaps some of that support goes to Quinn, but not all of it. There will be a runoff and Weiner will no longer be in it. Either de Blasio or Thompson will.
